damn this place has changed!

Thursday, September 11, 2008

If it's not Mexicans, then it's Indians! Please do NOT start talking to me all in your broken English and start asking me questions, and following me around, and getting into my conversations with other people. I do NOT want to give you my number, and I do NOT want to come with you to the 7-Eleven down the corner to meet your family and eat your 7-Eleven dinner. Dx
He kept asking me the same questions over and over and he even followed me DOWN INTO THE SUBWAY, OMG! The only way I could lose him was putting the ticket gate in between us and even then, he was Still leaning over saying he wanted to talk to me. GAH. SO STUPID!

On to something way better:

I've been meeting a lot of young people here from Canada, mostly from the West Coast side. I guess I really am destined ~ BD

And all the old people are from Europe. XD The short chatty tourists are from Japan, and then some Koreans and Filipinos. Theres a whole mix here, tourist and non-tourist. If I ever had to go to school or work here though, I just might want to live on the outskirts. The scene of quiet green mountains overlooking the sea will never stop amazing me. <3 To Sai Kung!

Last night, I couldn't find the word "check", so I ended up having to say 买单 XD
Haha, it was so funny. He was like waiting there forever for me to say something and I couldn't English it!
There are cute guys working at Bubba Gumps on the Peak, so if you come to Hong Kong, your extremely bored at night and want to feel like your back home eating seafood, get a view seat at the Peak :3
When my waiter said bye to me, he totally walked straight into the wall Hahaha omg so cute. ^O^ lol

I don't know why, but whyyy do I always look so fugly in a self potrait?! Either my hair is a total mess, my face is too oily, my body is in a freakin' awkward position and ill-proportioned, or my clothes are just not doing it! I get it, I'm mirror-genic , not photogenic. I hate being photographed. People always say you'll get over it and that's why everyone's comfortable with putting up pictures of themselves everywhere on the internet, well, it's been 7 straight years and I haven't come around! Perhaps we are not talking about the same photogenicy.

It's time to start running.

On Monday when I was sitting down on the Avenue of Stars, enjoying my huge chicken sandwich from Wellcome, an Indian guy (a sane one :O) said something to me while he was walking past but I didn't understand him. So he stopped and realized I don't speak that language, I speak English, and I'm not from Indonesia, but from the US. Now, I'm not one to go get a fortune told, but he just sorta did one right then and there for me. More like told me what I was thinking and then said One thing about the future. o__o Or I hope it was future future and not that day, because that would suck >< but anyways, yes. And I just realized he walked away going the direction he came from... does that mean he walked over just to say that to me? Who knows..... ~~~~

It seems most people here, tourist and non-tourist don't think I speak English. That's a major turnaround from Beijing where it's pretty obvious I know English (or now to think, is it because I'm always talking to someone else in English first? but supposedly someone said that a lot of Chinese on the mainland can't distinguish English from any other foreign language o_o perhaps just shop keepers, but they definitely know I don't know Mandarin) But here tourists don't know if I speak English or not and are shocked to find out that I can. A common phrase I've been asked a lot is "Do you speak English?" I've never been at that end of the view until now, feels strange and almost a little degrading? depending on patrioticyy mehehe, you know, I find myself saying to myself more and more that I love being an American, and love what we have, the standards we set, the service we expect, (but that doesn't mean I'm anxious to 'come home' XD) Ooh, it could also be there are many many tourists from non-English speaking countries too. And many of the locals believe I understand Cantonese until they figure out they're at a loss and have to use broken English to me xD It's weird, though, how since I first stepped into Hong Kong, the first language I try to make a sentence in, is not English, but Mandarin. Even though I know only a handful of words which are extremely uncolorful, unless I'm at a customer service desk, I usually can't think in English and end up using terrible Mandarin. That's also weird, because back in Beijing I hate talking to people, in English or Chinese, maybe I just really don't like it there :x haha, but when I was leaving the country and was asked what was in my bag, she kept saying “Do you have books in your bag?". My mind heard, but could not 'understand' what she was saying!! It was frustrating~ but when she said 有书吗? I was like Oooh :D, 有. Haha

Aww the maid just came in and asked me where I sleep because my bed is covered with junk from shopping. I don't know how I'm going to fit all this new stuff in my already Stuffed suitcase from coming here! I always pack too much, what's wrong with me? D; 你睡觉在哪里啊?! LOL Wow, I just realized she said 哪里 instead of 哪儿! XDXD  but omg, I'm tired of hearing the Taiwanese accent from classmates, it just sounds so WEIRD and kinda lame, and weak, and annoying. Maybe only One person I was able to stand, but the rest, just something about them speaking Mandarin is so annoying, and then I realized they are from Taiwan. I'm sorry I realized this trend. I thought Yuyan was lying to me. :x

So unless I blog again, I'm going back to mainland, where xanga and livejournal are blocked. :)
Until next time.

You know what I've realized?
I feel satisfied when I'm STUFFED.

Not stuffed as in, about to barf if you touch me, stuffed.
Stuffed as in My stomach feels tight, and when I laugh it hurts like hell.

That's the stuffed I love.

But you know what's sad?
I can't get full on homemade food :(
Satisfactions only come from successfully completing a nice sit-down restaurant meal.
Which means I need to be able to purchase these things.
Which means I need money.
Which means I need a job.

Why is job at the end of every goal I come up with?!?!
This is Reaally pissing me off. D<
